Editor’s Note

Dear all,

It is sad for me to admit, but summer has ended. The time has come to ease back into the work routine and college lifestyle we all seem to know too well.

Some of you are coming into college for the first time. So, welcome to Maynooth!

Here, at M.U.T. we know that settling into the new college-y paths in your life is not easy. I don’t want to sound corny but we all have been there. We had to leave our friends and family behind and move into the new place.  Now you have been thrusted into the new environment about which you know scarcely anything about, and you suddenly have to adjust to the new structure that is college life, life of study and grabbing a sneaky pint at the S.U.

Don’t worry too much if you feel lost. You will adjust to this new world. Not today or tomorrow but ultimately you will, and be able to cope with this new way of life. Don’t fret too much if you feel like you are struggling. Struggle is a part of this process. Through struggle we learn. But if you feel like it’s all too much, it’s important to talk to someone. Services such as Niteline are available for you and Karen the SU Welfare Officer will definitely be able to help you with the issue that is troubling you.

You will get there.

In the meantime, take a breather. Drink some tea, eat some chocolate and read M.U.T.

With warmest wishes,

Mags Fraczek,

The Editor
